Hello, I’m Stuart England from Triumph Fabrications in Hull. When we first started our coaching, one of our main goals was to increase our turnover in the three-year period. We achieved that goal; we increased our turnover by 65%. We increased our profit by 75% in that timescale, our position today from when we first started is we’re a different company. We’re completely different. We’ve got controls of far more things than we ever did. We know where we’re going, we’ve planned for where we’re going, and we’re moving in that right direction.
For me, coaching was a very personal thing. Started the business as a partnership. I am now the sole director and MD of the company, so this can be a lonely path to lead. So, Matthew with me gives me somebody to bounce ideas off. I can discuss problems; I can discuss issues that I can’t speak to my staff about. So, Matthew helps me in that way as well as just the coaching.
In business, everybody should have a coach. They need somebody that is not working in the business who can stand back and look at things, really see the woods for the trees, and offer advice. For me, one of the main things for my business coaching is that time away from the office, get time to refocus, recharge, move back into the business.
The time I spend with Matthew is my time to clear my head.
