I think accountability is absolutely essential. It’s one of the three key components of coaching. In the scene that Information is ubiquitous and free. It’s not about information; you can pick that up from Google and from Wikipedia and whatever you want, wherever you look.

The important thing about accountability is it’s about implementation. If you’re going to make a difference in the business, you’ve got to implement effectively. And accountability—that is, you say you’re going to do something, I’ll be checking in with you whether or not it’s been done, how it’s gone, what the problems were, and what we move on to next, or whether we need to go back and sort out what wasn’t possible.
